Two Weeks until the Degree Show

Being busy with the work for the degree show. Not at all for my space, but for website and branding of BA Graphic Design.
Working with Esa for the first time, and as always Duarte. Also working closely with Kate and Agostino.

Visit our degree show website, which is currently looking like this:

You can check Facebook event page.

If you are in London, you'd notice massive digital billboards promoting our show. Designed by KateAgostino and Krista.

It's nice to be in a year that we feel that people, both our year group and the college, actually do care about the show.

Other parts of the college is looking exciting too. It will be fun!

From Morocco to London

The desert of Morocco calls me from the memory far far away.
Lately, London is more beautiful than any other places in the world. Summer is here!

About mslocation

On social media, I unify my ID to "mslocation". Usually people tend to pronounce it like "M. S. location" (em, es, location), but it actually has a meaning behind it. It comes from the word mislocation (as in to mislocate) and female title address Ms (as in Ms.Yokoyama).
My good friends from Holland gave it to me when I moved to London in my last year of study. It suggests that "you are supposed to be in Holland and you are being mislocated in London", which is rather a touching thing for your old friends to tell you.
You can question why it is not MissLocation, which makes correlation to mislocation more evident, is simply because we didn't really thought through enough when we named it (and hey, it still works so it's cool).

I never expected that I'd be using it all over the Internet, but that is pretty much what has happened. It's useful to have a consistant ID, otherwise it's very easy to get confused by the amount of social IDs these days.

In addition, I began to think lately that mslocation (ie being mislocated) summarizes my life. Constantly moving and seeking for new homes. Hopefully that'll continue throughout my life.

to mislocate/ mislocation(間違った場所に置かれている)という単語と、女性の敬称であるMs.

Baby CURA is born!

Our lovely lovely little baby CURA is finally born!
Born, signed, sealed, delivered from Calverts in East London.
Our amazing team with publications and also Jasmine's wallpaper in the background (it was only a coincidence that Jasmine was there but hey it's nice). And yes wow I am tiny.

400 copies received at CSM. And this being CSM, we are equipped with a supermarket shopping trolley, specially for occasions like this one. This is me running with the trolley with full happiness on my face:

The moment of truth.

Check out the happy times.

Going around the building in style.

Duarte's signature pose.

Also, here's another nice photo from the proofing at Calverts.
JT and I are a happy bunch, and Franek looking... fierce?

Calverts Print Proofing and Tray for Relativity

Last week, we went in for a print proof at Calverts. They are co-op printer based in east London and are lovely to work with. Can't seriously wait to see the final publication...!

(First two photos taken by JT Yean)

I also went to Archway last week, to see the father of book binding, Douglas.
Initially thinking of making a box, I ended up creating a tray, to hold my Relativity piece. Fitting well.
