Good Bye Pop Up Shop

Here today, gone tomorrow!
In the end I managed to sell all my bags so that's great! I've also been in touch with two people who are interested in buying my aprons so that's double greatness! I wasn't expecting my aprons to sell, it was meant to be a part of Off Sight exhibition only, but it will be sweet if they could find loving homes too. Let's see how that go.
This is how my apron is actually displayed at the moment in Off Sight exhibition. Looks pretty out of context but it then gained a description card bellow.
And it's featured in Off Sight catalogue, which was sold at Pop up shop for £10, but I believe you can still get hold of a copy if you are interested.

It was great seeing our stuff in various media, even some big names like Creative Review, Grafik magazine... And Sweet and Sound wrote this:
Central Saint Martins has an outstanding reputation for nurturing the talent of the crème de la crème of bright young minds. Offering a variety of different courses, often some of the most exciting work comes from graphic design.
What an impressive reputation we've got. Plus, they used MY image with THAT description. (Yes!)

It was all student-led. I wasn't involved in organization part at all but some of us organized EVERYTHING. They don't put their names out there and they were never bossy so I don't exactly know who and how many of us were involved in that process, but THANK YOU to all that people who did extra work for us. Particularly to Kate Goodridge, who was the main organizer, and for making absolutely lovely flyers and website.

The shop was not restricted by any brief, so it really allowed us to do something that we were passionate about. For me this pop up bags were about combining my long time passion towards ARCHITECTURE, FASHION TEXTILE, and PHOTOGRAPHY. I don't any way consider pursuing the path of those areas, but they all are great inspiration in my life and was nice to work with such elements!

Pop Up Shop in Full Swing!

Our pop up shop is open and we had the private view last night! The gang! Much love!
This is how the shop looked like during the day. SO NICE.
And at night. A LOT OF PEOPLE. It really was.

I made little booklets to go with my bags, explaining where the image was taken from and some background of this project.
I sold few bags! That means I got money back for materials now making profit! Good to know!

Only two more days until the shop closes! Catch it while you can!

Pop Up Shop Product COMPLETED!

Four A3 bags and four A4 bags DONE for pop up shop!Photos here don't do the justice, but the print quality of the images are actually much nicer real life. From the experience with the aprons, I knew more about the printing and so I think the print looks better than the one I had for aprons.

AND today I had absolutely lovely friends of mine modelling for my bags!
Thank you so much to Sandra, Charlotte, Prapim, Alessia, Lidia, Matt, JT, and Duarte for being such lovely lovely models! It was really fun having 8 of you guys lined up in a line...! You can tell we had fun right? I mean look at Alessia here so cute:They will be on sale at pop up shop from Wednesday, with A3 bag for £21, and A4 bag for £13 (prices subject to change). Remember, there are only 8 of them!

We also had a meeting with everyone who's participating and I was SERIOUSLY impressed by the quality. It's gonna be amazing I'm awfully excited. People here are so talented. JEALOUS.
Meanwhile, you can check out Pop up shop website for work in progress photos!

Mini Business Card for Pop Up Shop

My mini business cards are ready for the pop up shop!
It's small and has only the most important information about me (ie my name, web address, and email address).
My last business card was all about trying to make people remember my name with my face, but this one is for pop up shop, they wouldn't see me in person, so it needed a different idea. I assumed people who'd take my business card are the ones who liked my bags and patterns, so I thought of including that wall/floor patterns, but I wasn't so sure whether that would represented me as a person/designer.
So, this is what I went with!

I used 75 different pantone color swatches. The printer that I used did a very good job that they do actually look subtle but definitely different colors. You can pretty much choose any color out of 75!

I'm hoping if you pick up the color you like, you are more likely to come back to me. We'll see.
The back is kept all the same and it's very straight-forward.

Pop Up Shop WIP

I finished 4 small bags for the pop up shop!
They all fit a A4 notebook. Furtherest one on the right has longer straps. It's quite hard to see in the photos but the blue straps actually have nice blue and pink patterns to them.
I must admit that I have this fetisch with architectural materials. Like wooden tiles, concrete walls, glass or brick walls. So I personally find these bags very attractive, they completely satisfy my fetisch, but I wonder how people usually think about these patterns. Do people also find them attractive, or do they appear as just dirty floors? Well, I get to find that out by whether people actually buy them or not. I still  believe that there must be architectural-material-fetisch-people out there. It can't be just me.
In any case, even if you still don't have any architectural material fetish thing, it's quite a nice memorial piece for soon-to-be-gone our current CSM building.

Now, I'm going to start making bigger versions of these bags, ones that'll fit A3!

Meanwhile you can visit our Pop Up Shop Website, to check out what other very talented kids are up to. Work in progress photos looking awesome and I'm already tempted to buy few things from others. I cannot wait to see them!
